I haven’t received any forwarded mail. What should I do?
The Mail Forwarding service forwards mail from your old/original address to your new address, so it can take a little longer for mail to reach you, especially if the distance between your old and new addresses is significant.
If your forwarding address is within Canada, allow approximately 5 business days from the service start date before you begin receiving forwarded mail.
If you are not receiving forwarded mail, make sure that:
- You know how mail is delivered at your new address (for example, at the door or through a community mailbox).
- There is nothing obstructing the letter carrier from getting to your mailbox, such as construction, snow or ice on your walkway.
Remember that there are some limitations to Mail Forwarding:
- Parcels are not forwarded through this service.
- Mail marked “Do Not Forward” is returned to the sender.
